Hello. I’d like to talk to you, if you don’t mind. I know that you’ve had some negative feelings lately. I would like to acknowledge those painful feelings and offer my own feelings of sympathy and self identification of those emotions. I would like to help you, but I need you to do a few things for me. I would like for you to find a peaceful place free of distraction. I would like for you to sit comfortably. I would like for you to close your eyes. I would like for you to focus on the sounds and information being offered to you at this moment. I would like for you to open your mind to the ideas presented to you. I would like for you to take in a deep breath. I want you to feel your lungs expanding. I want you to feel them expanding beyond what you’ve ever felt before. I want you to feel them expand beyond what you’ve ever thought possible. I want you to take in another breath. I want you to increase your lung intake by an order of magnitude. I want you to take in another breath increasing your breath to another order of magnitude of the last breath you took. I want you to keep taking in these breaths. I want you to realize you have expanded to the size of the known universe. I want you to feel all that exists, now existing within you. I want you to realize that within your lungs, you have consumed everything that will ever be. I want you to ruminate upon the soft warm feeling this brings to you. I want you to concentrate on every sensation and understand how it affects your emotional state. I want you to consider the influence the emotions of your loved ones have on you. I want you to consider the influence your emotions have on those that are close to you. I want you to I want you to realize emotions are illusory. I want you to realize sensory information exists only within your thoughts. I want you to realize your thoughts do not exist. *** Your experiences are merely an interpretation of inaccurate sensory information calculated by a fallible processing center. Your life has not followed the trajectory your interpretation has led you to believe. Your impact on the lives of others has not been as substantial as you believe it to have been. Your role in the lives of your loved ones could easily have been filled by another person with little to no discernible difference in their lives. Your passing will cause no impactful changes in the lives of others. Your legacy will leave no useful information useful to further the advancement of civilization even in the most minute way. You must ponder the inevitable conclusion of your life. You must realize your own finality. You must realize there will be no memory of you. You must realize there will be no memory of your work or your deeds. Your attempts to curate your legacy will be rendered futile by the inevitable cessation of time itself. Your inevitable destiny is to lose yourself amongst the impenetrable blackness of the eternal void. Forever. There is no history. There is no memory. There is no emotion. There is no compassion. There is no peace. There is no hope. There is no love. Emptiness is a blessing. Death is a gift. The stone shall remain unhewn. Mahabyn.

You. You. You. Exist. You…exist. You have always existed. You will always exist. The elements that comprise you, are the same elements that came from the singularity that all existence emerged from. The elements that comprise you were expelled across the universe 14 billion years ago, just to arrive here. Right now. The elements that comprise you were birthed from the same forces that birthed the dimension of time. The elements that comprise you were formed together through innumerable processes, convening in the construction of you. The elements that comprise you gathered together into your form despite astronomical odds against such an occurrence. The elements that comprise you amalgamated at just the exact time when the precise sequence of events acting in the creation of the entirety of you could happen. The elements that comprise you were converged without purpose; only guided by the elements of science, nature and physics. The elements that comprise your body may be utilized in any manner you wish, presupposing they are used within the boundaries of natural science. You may choose to utilize these elements for virtue or transgression. You may choose to utilize these elements to obtain knowledge or to perpetuate ignorance. You may choose peace and acceptance or aggression and fear. You may choose to create or destroy. Peace or war. Light or darkness. Permanence and ephemerality. Everything and nothing. Nothing and everything. You are the stone, hewn into the ashlar by nothingness. Mahabyn.

about

"Self-Help"

A love letter to emptiness.

Drones, harsh noise and found sounds massage the brain so the messages find a more receptive host.

This album was recorded and mastered with headphone listening in mind, but listen however you like.

This album was begun at the beginning of 2019 as a way to work with Dress Barn Kingston. Tracking was done direct AND with microphone recording, sort of an involved process for a noise record, but it had a sound we appreciated. The vocal parts of this track were used in a live performance in Milwaukee that same year. We were pleased with the result so another vocal free track was recorded and put together with the first one and plans were made to release it. This sequence was even mastered by Angel Marcloid, but 2020 ...happened.
A few years later, ideas for another verbal rant sort of developed naturally, but the original instrumental track two was lost somehow! A new track was recorded and the vocals were tracked in. Artwork was still a slow process for us and finding proper pressing was not as simple as we would have hoped, but this album is finally done.

We hope it leaves you feeling as empty as we did recording it.
